Meet the Team

Papico’s team consists of a mixture of experience, enthusiasm, flair, specialist knowledge, and most of all good listeners. We have a good mixture of personalities with a core of long service employees.  We have always tried to establish a close relationship with all of our customers be it face to face through our outside sales team or on the telephone with the inside sales.

Tony Knight – MD
"When I left school my dad gave me 1 week to find a job or he would find me one. I didn’t believe the threat and 7 days later found myself in a paper merchants warehouse in Leeds.  That’s over 40 years ago and since then I have worked with many wonderful people in the industry, and now I employ some of them.  To work at Papico you need to be good fun, hard working and enthusiastic and be able to combine and show all three."

Nigel Hurford – Director

"After 28 years with Papico and having been involved with it’s inception I am now regarded part of the furniture. Mature and knowledgeable but still sparkling with a remarkable enthusiasm!"

Andrew Dunning – Director
"I have been with Papico for more than half of my life (scary thought) and have done almost every job here. Currently I am ‘The packaging person’ as well as covering the North on graphics. My wife and two son’s spending habits ensure I keep working even though I am being drawn more and more by that evil temptress ‘Golf ‘. I am told I have a problem with my competitive spirit, but that there are people who can help me!"

John De Little
"I am the man-in-the-south, Guildford in fact; as Elton John fans say in Yorkshire, ‘Surrey seems to be the hardest word.’
I have a lovely young family who keep me feeling young(-ish), and a new dog called Ringo who is part Dalmatian, part border collie, part muppet.
Summer Sundays find me looking ‘mean moody and magnificent’ on my precious Harley Davidson, though the words ‘mid life crisis’ can be heard from the house as I mount up and head into the sunset."

Paul Johnston-Knight
"I’m Paul, my passion in life is my family, and what with my wife and my 4 kids, our chickens, peacocks, parrots and guinea pigs life is pretty busy! I couldn’t be without my iPod as I love all sorts of music.  And the long list of gadgets I possess speaks for itself. If I won the lottery I’d probably spend my whole life on the internet, but pressures at work and jobs at home keep me out of mischief."

David Bramhill
"I’m David, I’ve been at Papico since 1995 and in this time I’ve got married, seen the birth of my two beautiful children and watched many football matches along the way. People in the office always have a smile on their face when I am around, I don’t really think I want to know why! And the photocopier doesn’t like me!"

Samantha Blake
"Hi I am Sam & I am not disclosing my age or weight, but I am tall & have very long legs! I am a fun loving, sincere person who is hard-working & extremely dizzy! I love vodka, Robbie Williams & my cat. And one day I will marry Brad Pitt!"

Diane Ford
"P.A. to M.D. – although I am getting to the mature time in my life, life is just starting second time around. Three children all grown up equals more time to do your own thing in life.  Pleasures in life are fine wines, walking, keeping fit, I have taken part in 2 London marathons but best of all being around and enjoying seeing three children grow and develop into happy, mature (!) grown up people."

Deirdre Baggaley
"My name is De, I have worked at Papico for 22 years, it feels more like home now!
When at home I enjoy exercise and renovating my 18th century cottage which was once an old granary but nothing beats spending the weekends with my friends and family, shopping and enjoying leisurely lunches. A glass of wine at the end of the day sat by my roaring log fire eases the stresses of the working day."
