Siliconising base papers are papers that are used to carry a silicon coating, on either one or both sides, to provide release properties.

There are many different markets that require release properties e.g. self-adhesive labels, baking papers, carbon fibre production.

The key property of the papers used in this field are their ability to keep as much silicon on the surface as possible, with minimal, if any, penetration into the paper body itself.

Converters want to use as little silicon as possible to provide the correct release level, this is because Silicon is very expensive
